Ahead of Sony’s big reveal at an event taking place in the early hours of Thursday morning (21 February), more rumours are emerging on the Playstation 4, regarding its expected release date, mobile integration, and a subscription service.
The news comes via Kotkau, who claim that a “reliable source” has explained that Sony will release two models – priced at $429 and $529 respectively. This lines up with earlier rumours that pegged the PS4 at £300 (±R4,200).
The source also claims that the new console will be out in November in the United States – with releases in other regions expected afterwards.
On top of the pricing and release rumours are some details about its mobile integration. Users are said to have the ability to remotely control the PS4 through a tablet or smartphone. Players will be able to chat with PS4 friends or buy games, which will be automatically downloaded to the machine.
In terms of the online accessibility, the PS4 is rumoured to feature a premium subscription service, Playstation World, which will replace Playstation Plus.
The console is also expected to be bundled with a new iteration of Sony’s Playstation Eye, as well as the rumoured touch-pad controller.
