Details of the mammoth StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm launch event and pro-gaming showcase have been released.
Megarom, in association with AMD, MSSA, Internet Solutions, and PolarfluKe, will be hosting the Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm Invitation Tournament and launch event.
It will take place on 16 March 2013, at The Forum in the The Campus business park in Bryanston, Johannesburg, courtesy of Internet Solutions. IS is also providing a fibre optic internet connection for the day’s events, guaranteeing speeds of 92-95Mbps and average latency of 2 milliseconds local.
AMD have supplied machines for the players to play on during the day and will have machines available for public to test out on the day.
The highlight of the event is a test match between Rob “PandaTank” Botha (South Africa) and Silviu “NightEnD” Lazar (Romania), marking the first time such a test match has been held on South Africa soil.
A 12-player tournament will also be held in which players battle for a prize pool of R35,000. Entrants will nee to be on top form, as both PandaTank and NightEnD are entered into the tournament.
The competitions are accredited by Mind Sports South Africa

Additionally a Wild Card tournament will be held by PolarFluke to determine the final 3 placements for players still wanting a chance to compete in the Invitational: Starcraft 2 SA Wild Card Qualifier tournament announced.
