Deep Silver has announced that the long-awaited sequel to Metro 2033, Last Light, will hit stores on 17 May 2013.
“The new release date is the ideal way to strike the balance between bringing the best out of Metro: Last Light and not keep the fans waiting longer than necessary,” said Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch Media.
The game will arrive on PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms, and should push the current-gen systems given that the original game became well-known for its great visuals.
Metro: Last Light is set in 2034 and after the events of the original game, where humanity have been pushed into the Metro underground of Moscow, fighting for survival against grotesque creatures and enemies.
As humanity makes its last stand, they also search for a doomsday device that could be the key to their victory. Players will reprise the role of Artyom, who is the last light for all of mankind.
