Music legend Jimmy Page of infamous rock band Led Zeppelin has always had a thing or two to say about Activision’s Guitar Hero.
Part of his commentary explains why none of the bands iconic songs will ever feature in the game.
“When Guitar Hero were pitching for Led Zeppelin to get involved they wanted the multi-tracks of our original recordings. I said, ‘It’s all very well having a bit of fun, but don’t be silly!’” Page told the Independent.
The interview was done as part of PR for the just filmed documentary It Might Get Loud which features Page along with U2’s The Edge and Jack White of the White Stripes.
Documentary maker Davis Guggenheim also took a swipe at the video game series.
“You could say our film is the antithesis of the Guitar Hero game,” going on to elaborate:
“Each of our three guitarists has a brilliantly individual voice, but in Guitar Hero you have to replicate an existing part – how dull is that?”
