Rumours surrounding the next-generation Xbox are becoming more and more prevalent, and the latest hints towards the forthcoming console’s chipset.
According to a report on Bloomberg, the system will utilise a chip based on the AMD Jaguar APU architecture.
This means that the console will move away from the Power PC technology to an x86 system, which means that Xbox 360 discs won’t work on the console.
Traditional disc-based backwards compatibility will then likely not be an option – something that Sony has also excluded from its Playstation 4.
It’s now been speculated that Microsoft will unveil its new console on 21 May 2013, according to The Verge.
