Need for Speed: Underground rebooting?

Rumours surrounding a possible return to the Underground milieu of the Need for Speed universe have been floating around for a while, and a new hint could lend some weight to the rumours.

A mysterious image was sent to EGM, which shows a newly designed Need for Speed: Underground logo. There are no details on who or what the source of the image is.

Another piece of information is that the game will be set in Bayview, which won’t be the same as Underground 2’s Bayview, but a reworked and redesigned city.

The silhouettes in the logo show iconic landmarks, such as London’s Big Ben, and Rome’s Coliseum. How these link up with the rumour of Bayview as a setting is unknown. The logo could also be an early mock-up.

That said, a number of Criterion employee’s Linkedin profiles list an “unannounced” 2013 racing title, which makes one assume that an Underground reboot could be that title.
