Amazon Appstore hits SA, free apps and games every day

The Amazon Appstore for Android is available in South Africa following the recent launch of the service to 200 new countries by the retail giant today (23 May 2013).

“Customers around the world can now buy apps and games directly from the Amazon Appstore on Mac, PC, Android phones and tablet PCs (including Kindle Fire),” Amazon announced in a press statement.

Amazon also announced that Kindle Fire will be available in over 170 new countries (including South Africa) on June 13.

To celebrate the launch, Amazon said that the Appstore is bringing back one of its most popular “Free Apps of the Day”: Fruit Ninja, along with Cut the Rope: Experiments.

These will be available, for free, on 23 May and 24 May, respectively.

Among the features of the Amazon Appstore is offering a paid app for free every day.
