Wii U on special for R1,000

29 May 2013

Toys R Us is running a special on Nintendo’s console, according to a find by MyGaming and SA Gamer forum members.

According to information received from Toys R Us stores, the Wii U 32GB Premium Pack console with the Nintendo Land game bundled is priced at R1,000 and will be available from 30 May 2013 while stocks last.

MyGaming contacted Toys R Us head office for confirmation, but they declined to confirm the details, saying we must wait for the advertisement announcing the special.

We telephonically contacted various Toys R Us branches around the country, including Centurion, Fourways, Canal Walk, and Pavillion, and according to information communicated by the sales staff at the Toys R Us stores:

  • The Wii U 32GB Premium Pack will go on special for R1,000 from 30 May 2013.
  • The special should be available at all Toys R Us branches around the country which are carrying Wii U 32GB stock. It is of course advisable to phone ahead of time to check.
  • The Wii U 32GB Premium pack will only be on sale while stocks last at each store. There is only one console to be sold per customer.

The various stores contacted said that customers have already been phoning in and enquiring about the special, so this might really be one for the early movers.
