Double Fine’s Massive Chalice is another Kickstarter success

Double Fine’s second Kickstarter-backed game, Massive Chalice, has already exceeded its campaign goal.

The game managed to rack up over $790,000 of its $725,000 goal in less than a week.

Massive Chalice is described on the game’s Kickstarter page as an “epic, replayable turn-based tactics game where you train generations of heroes to repel a demonic invasion.”

Massive Chalice is said to take inspiration from classic strategy games like X-COM, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Fire Emblem.

Brad Muir (pictured above) will helm the project. Muir is a longtime Double Fine veteran who has worked on Psychonauts, Brutal Legend, and was the creator of Iron Brigade.

It also notes that the “Game of Thrones’ array of noble families” is another inspiration for the project.
