In an internal Activision memo, Activision Publishing president and CEO Mike Griffith recently confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 developers Infinity Ward will remain with the company.
This is despite the departure of studio heads Jason West and Vince Zampella.
Activision also added that Infinity Ward is still “central to Call of Duty’s future”. This should leave a smile on the face of the millions of Call of Duty fans around the globe who were sweating when it announced that Infinity Ward was experiencing friction with publisher Activision.
“Jason West and Vince Zampella are no longer with Infinity Ward,” explained Griffith, adding that “Infinity Ward remains central to Call of Duty’s future and we rely on the combined talent, expertise and leadership of the team there for its success.”
