Pokemon X and Y launch date revealed

Nintendo has announced that Pokemon X and Y will arrive worldwide on 12 October 2013.

Announced during the January Pokemon Direct presentation, these two new titles mark the first 3D entries into the Pokemon series and will incorporate the 3D capabilities of the platform.

A video showing the two games was presented by Nintendo Chief Satoru Iwata, which showed off the new starter Pokemon, some of the environments and a few friendly faces.

The three generation 6 starter Pokemon are Chespin (grass-type), Fennekin (fire-type), and Froakie (water-type).
