If the Witcher 3 wasn’t already looking gorgeous and vast enough to get you excited, it’s been announced that the forthcoming Witcher game will receive free DLC for PC.
Marcin Iwinski, the studio head of CD Projekt RED, said that the plan is to extend the free DLC to Xbox One and PS4, although, it’s up to the platform holders whether this will happen or not.
“It’s too early to talk specifics, but definitely all the DLCs and updates will be free,” said Iwinski. “Of course, we’ll see what the platform holders will allow, what we can do for free [on next-gen consoles]. I mean, there are different business models on consoles. From our standpoint, we’ll definitely do everything we can to deliver the same experience across all platforms.”
Iwinski was also concerned with Xbox One’s DRM issues, however, since Microsoft has recently backtracked on their DRM policies, things are looking up for free Witcher 3 DLC on next-gen consoles.
