During a Q&A session, Rockstar has revealed some details on the size of the game install for Grand Theft Auto V, as well as some details on them multiplayer.
Rockstar was asked how many discs the game would arrive on, as gamers were concerned if they’d have enough space on their hard drives for the massive open-world crime drama.
Rockstar confirmed that both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will have mandatory installs, with the PS3 version coming on one disc and the Xbox 360 version coming with two discs. Disc 1 will be used for a one-time mandatory install and Disc 2 will be used to play the game.
“Grand Theft Auto V is the largest and most ambitious game we have yet created, and takes full advantage of every ounce of processing power available in the current generation of consoles,” elaborated Rockstar.
The game will require 8GB of free space on the 360 or PS3’s hard drive.
Rockstar also mentioned that the multiplayer component of GTA 5 will be called Grand Theft Auto Online and will be included on the Xbox 360 version’s second disc, and on the single Blu-ray disc for PS3.
And of course, the question popped up of whether a PC version or next-gen version are in the works.
“We don’t have anything to share about the possibility of a next-gen or a PC platform release at this time and we are completely focused on delivering the best possible experience for the consoles people have right now,” responded Rockstar.
Rockstar promised to share more details soon, as well as a gameplay video “on its way”.
