Pick ‘n Pay selling PS3 Slims for R2299

Update

Reports are coming in that almost all Pick ‘n Pay stores accross SA are out of stock.

Original

An advert in Die Beeld newspaper is listing the PS3 120GB Slim console on sale for R2299 at select Pick ‘n Pay stores around the country.

This follows recent sales on the Xbox 360 from Makro and Look & Listen.

It seems that large retailers are catching onto the idea of using epic sales like this to get people in their stores.

The PS3 Slim retails for around R3799 usually, so this sale represents a saving of R1500, although stock is limited, and only select stores around the country are carrying the special.

Be sure to check stock at your nearest Pick ‘n Pay before heading through to make the purchase, because these babies are moving fast. Users on the PS3za forums and Lazygamer have reported that stock is sold out at the Brakenfell, Durban North and Ottery Pick ‘n Pay stores.

About the PS3 Slim

The PS3 Slim is the most recently released home console from Sony. The Slim is 33% smaller, 36% lighter and consumes 34% less power than the regular PS3, and it is able to deliver the same performance and functionality as its larger counterpart. It is also cooler and quieter than the regular PS3 due to improved power efficiency and better optimized thermodynamics.

The PS3 Slim also features 40GB more harddrive space than the outgoing 80GB PS3 flagship console.
