NAG LAN @ rAge 2013 ticket sale date revealed

NAG Magazine, the brains behind rAge (the Really Awesome Gaming Expo), has announced that tickets to the 11th annual NAG LAN @ rAge will go on sale at 09:00 on 31 August 2013. A NAG LAN ticket will set you back R400.

Tickets will only be on sale online at There will be no tickets available to purchase at any physical outlet and sales will be limited to a maximum of 2 tickets per person.

NAG LAN tickets sell out incredibly fast, and there’s no reason to believe this year will be any different, so LAN gamers keen on the event had best get their early. While numbers haven’t been confirmed for 2013, it’s safe to bank on similar numbers as in 2012 – just over 2,000 LAN tickets available.

“As everyone knows, in life nothing works this well and grows to this kind of madness, with this much status and prestige just by itself,” said Michael James, Editor and Publisher of NAG Magazine. “The NAG LAN servers are powered by the mighty Intel, and connecting all these kilometres of networking cables are HP switches. The whole crazy weekend LAN is sponsored by Corex who bravely put their name on the gaming experience of the year. Without these companies there is no LAN. Go on, show them the love.”

rAge 2013 will take place on the weekend of 4 October – 6 October, starting on Friday and running through to the Sunday. Day passes will be R70 per person, with full weekend tickets priced at R120 per person. Tickets to the NAG LAN will set you back R400.

The event will take place at the usual spot – the Coca-Cola Dome, Northgate Shopping Centre, Johannesburg.

rAge 2013 will showcase computer and console gaming hardware, PC, PlayStation, Xbox 360 and Nintendo games, gaming accessories from joysticks to headphones, comic books, figurines, anime, role-playing, cosplay, board games, creative arts, competitive collectible card games, local game developers and much more.

Omg After many years of asking for the venue to be changed. It is still coca cola dome. /facepalm

  • Qrox

The guys at NAG already said a couple of years ago that the venue wouldn’t change. They already have a structure and plans in place for this location and its been working for years. A lot of people have asked if they wanted to move it to Capetown but they would probably loose a lot of their customers.

Though, I do agree that the venue has become a bit too small for this kind of thing, it would take a lot of effort on their part to move the LAN elsewhere.

Durban ICC. 2000m2 MORE than the Coca Cola Dome. Cmon NAG, bring it here !

Edit: After looking at the ICC planned events, apparently we have the Inferno LAN here from November 29th to Dec 1st.

went there for the lan last year, great play. wish i could go this year

  • AcidRaZor

It’s been REVEALED!!! (not announced, but POOF, REVEALED!)

  • AcidRaZor

Cause it’s not in JHB dude

  • AcidRaZor

I’d disagree. I think the venue is way too small to have an expo AND a LAN there. Not enough seats to watch the competitive gaming and too much going on/noise to really enjoy if you do find one. This isn’t 2009 anymore. It’s 2013 where esports is quite popular and they should grow and move with the times

According to the Rageexpo website, it is R400 a ticket??

  • Vorastra

That is the most pathetic excuse I have ever heard and the most annoying thing? You’re absolutely right as to why they haven’t said anything.

    Upvote for you, sir.

  • I don’t know man, they’ve made mention of LANs in Cape Town, so it’s probably a time frame thing rather than a location thing (rAge 3 months from now vs. Inferno a little over 4 months from now), they’ll probably make enough mention about Inferno as we get closer to it, which is pretty much the same treatment events such as rAge and LANs in the Cape have been getting

IM Quite clued up on major lan events around the country and I have not heard about an INFERNO lan either, So I dont really blame MYgaming,. Yuu cant write about things you dont know about?

  • Vorastra

Ah, so they haven’t really advertised this Inferno LAN then? Ye I guess then it’s Inferno’s fault for not advertising as such.

  • Yes, sorry. I was working on the older price and didn’t notice that it had gone up since the announce back in April.
