The nightmare-inducing horror game Outlast will launch on 4 September 2013 on Steam for $20 (R196).
The game is also scheduled for PS4, but there are no details on that version’s release date just yet.
Outlast is a new horror game coming from a recently-founded studio Red Barrels, which was put together by former Naughty Dog and Ubisoft devs.
Outlast stars journalist Miles Upshur, who breaks into a long-abandoned asylum, located in the isolated mountains of Colorado, to find out what’s going on inside the mysterious institution – and he’s going to regret it.
The game uses the Unreal 3 engine, and although there’s just a tech demo available, it’s looking to be a promising addition in the horror genre library.
