EA has announced that a demo for the third iteration of its popular skateboarding series, Skate, will be releases on Xbox Live and PSN on April 15.
Before Skate, the Tony Hawk franchise dominated the skateboarding game sub-genre, however, as it became progressively more farfetched over the years, gamers’ interest began to wander. Then EA released Skate, which applied a fresh approach to video game skateboarding with a greater emphasis on realism.
Both Skate and Skate 2 were received fairly well, both commercially and critically. It should be interesting to see if EA can hold gamers’ attentions a third time around.
The demo will provide a platform for gamers to try before they buy, and with so many local uncapped ADSL services cropping up recently, downloading them has never been easier for local gamers.
