Next Mortal Kombat game in development

It’s been revealed that the next instalment in the Mortal Kombat franchise is in development, according to the Mortal Kombat Legacy producer.

Lance Sloane, who is the producer on the popular web-series, spoke about the new season and upcoming film reboot, but let slip that another game was in to works too.

“We’ve been in greenlight committee for a while at the studio and we’ve got a great script,” said Sloane. “And we’ve got a great director with Kevin Tancharoen, who is on board.

“It’s just figuring out the business side of it and when we would do it and when we would launch it and how do we sync up with the launch of the game that they’re working on now. It’s not 100 percent yet, but we’re getting closer every day.”

A follow-up to 2011’s Mortal Kombat reboot would be a welcomed game, as it was considered one of the best in the series, bringing the classic 2D-plane fighting style and modern elements together for a fusion of spine-snapping action.
