UK-based game studio Splash Damage has announced that it will be developing the multiplayer portion of Batman: Arkham Origins.
“This is the first time an Arkham game is set to have multiplayer of any kind, and we’ve put together what we think is a unique and authentic extension of Arkham’s acclaimed single player,” said Splash Damage.
The multiplayer style will expand on the elements of the single-player portion, giving players the opportunity to become an invisible predator to take one another out.
The 3 vs 3 vs 2 matches allow you to take control of Batman and Robin (or Joker one of his gang members, or Bane and an accomplice) and work together to eliminate three armed threats – being controlled by other players.
Players will have to use the environments and their characters’ unique abilities to overcome the odds.
Splash Damage has worked on games such as Enemy Territory and Brink.
Batman: Arkham Origins will release on 25 October 2013 on Wii U, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
