Star Wars: Battlefront release window revealed

EA has revealed the release period for the Star Wars: Battlefront revival.

The game is scheduled to release in Summer 2015, which will tie up with the release of the next Star Wars movie, being directed by JJ Abrhams.

“[It] will most likely come out around the same time as the Star Wars movies start to come out, probably in the summer of ’15”, said EA CFO Blake Jorgensen.

Revealed at E3 2013, EA and DICE confirmed that they are in fact working on a new Star Wars: Battlefront entry, following EA’s acquisition of the Star Wars game rights.

DICE aired a small clip of the game, which showed the battle of Hoth from the perspective of a foot soldier. A Rebel Snow Speeder makes a brief appearance (before ploughing into the ground), and an AT-AT’s foot slams down beside the soldier.

There were no other details about the game, however, the knowledge that DICE is behind such a strong franchise and IP is exciting.

Expect to hear more about Star Wars: Battlefront in the coming months.
