Over the weekend, the Dota 2 International tournament took place and the world’s best Dota 2 teams went head-to-head to see who had the mettle to take home prizes worth more than $2.8 million.
The two teams which battled to the final were the Na’Vi and Alliance – and it couldn’t have been a tighter call to make between the two.
- The first match saw Alliance dominate the Na’Vi, after the Na’Vi took a risky move that didn’t execute as planned;
- The second match saw the Na’Vi bounce back to level the score sheet 1-1;
- The third match featured a good start for the Na’Vi, giving them the advantage that took them 2-1 on the scoreboard;
- The fourth game was a make or break for Alliance, who dominated throughout the match and got themselves back in the running.
For the first time in the history of The International, the final went to five games with the winner of the fifth match grabbing the win.
Alliance were able to come out on top from a titanic battle where either team could’ve toppled, but it was Alliance who held strongest.
Congratulations to Alliance on the win of over $1.4 million, with second place coming away with approximately $619,000 and third roughly $281,000.
