Is Infinity Ward in shambles?

Following departures from several key players at Infinity Ward last week a number of employees have opted to follow suite, arguably leaving the once mighty studio – which has been responsible for the Call of Duty Modern Warfare franchise – in disarray.

According to IGN long time programmer John Shiring has also left the company, initially making the announcement via his Twitter account several hours ago.

Shiring spent almost six years at Infinity Ward and played a key role in the development of both Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2.

“I’m not trying to create a spectacle, I just wanted to avoid the LinkedIn nonsense,” he told IGN. “No announcements other than that one.”

In addition to this Senior Animator Bruce Ferriz also confirmed that he has left the studio to take up a position at Red Button Entertainment.

Finally Modern Warfare 2 lead designer Mackey McCandlish also announced his departure yesterday and it has been confirmed that lead Designers Steve Fukuda and Zied Reike programmer Rayme Vinson and lead artist Chris Cherubini are no longer at the studio.

This means that thirteen key employees have left Infinity Ward since Activision fired studio founders Vince Zampella and Jason West.
