Sony is reportedly preparing to unveil a new virtual reality headset at the Tokyo Game Show 2013, which is scheduled to take place from the 19 – 22 September.
The unannounced headset is said to be a variant of Sony’s already-available HMZ 3D headsets and will work with the Playstation 4.
The headset would operate in a similar fashion to the Oculus Rift, which Sony’s Worldwide Studios’ president Shuhei Yoshida has confessed to being a fan of.
It was also said that Evolution Studios is currently working on some sort of VR device to simulate the cockpit view in Driveclub – this could be Sony’s VR gaming headset.
Sony also recently announced the HMZ-T3W which will be released mid-November 2013.
We’ll have to wait and see if Sony do in fact unveil the VR headset at the Tokyo Game Show later this month.
