Epic Games has announced the final entry in the iOS-exclusive Infinity Blade series – Infinity Blade III.

This was done alongside Apple’s unveiling of new iPhones at its headquarters in Cupertino, California on Tuesday, 10 September 2013.

The game will launch on 18 September 2013, priced at $6.99 on the iTunes Store. It is compatible with the new iPhone 5S & 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPad 4, iPAd 3, iPad 2, iPad Mini, iPod touch 5, and iPod touch 4.

Developer Chair Entertainment’s Donald Mustard said the game will feature new gameplay elements and characters.

Players can step into the boots of Siris, the original Infinity Blade hero, or Isa, his sidekick introduced in Infinity Blade II. Both characters will have their own set of weapons and armour to accumulate throughout the game.

Infinity Blade III is set to be the largest game yet in the series. Chair said the game has 45 minutes of cutscenes, quite impressive for what is ostensibly a mobile game.

There will be more than one fortress stronghold for players to crack, unlike the first two games which had players battling in a single location.

The social elements of ClashMobs will also return, boasting more modes of play.
