Batman: Arkham Origins suffers further delay in SA

Batman Arkham Origins

Batman: Arkham Origins has suffered a further delay in SA on certain platforms, according to local retailers.

The revised release dates are now as follows:

  • Batman: Arkham Origins PC – 6 November 2013
  • Batman: Arkham Origins Wii U – 15 November 2013
  • Batman: Arkham Origins – Blackgate 3DS – 1 November 2013

Retailers that MyGaming spoke to confirmed that this is due to shipping and logistics problems, compounded by the shipping delay of the title in Europe.

We are still waiting on official confirmation from Ster Kinekor Entertainment (SKE), distributor of Warner Bros products – but the game is most certainly delayed for the above-mentioned platforms, as retailers have begun informing their pre-order customers.

The good news is that the pricing remains the same, and there’s still time to check out our pre-order pricing roundup – Batman: Arkham Origins pre-order price roundup

Developed by WB Games Montréal, Batman: Arkham Origins features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline set several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, where a bounty is put on Batman’s head, giving every villain the inventive to try and take down Batman all in the same night.

Warner Bros Games has released 17-minutes of gameplay to prepare you for the Dark Knight’s prequel adventure.

The actual gameplay looks spruced up from 2011’s Arkham City, and Warner Bros Montreal has really put their own stylistic stamp on the franchise.

You even get to see Alfred in the Batcave, some of the new weapons and gadgets at Batman’s disposal, and even the training arena that players can use to explore the new moves.

Argh. Why do we always get the sh!t happening when epic games are coming out? I have a massive sad 🙁

SKE… Expect your PS4 next year March! When is Sony and WB going to learn not to trust SKE? Where is Mmegarom in all of this anyway? May they not import WB games? Why does SKE not have a comment on this when so many retailers depend on accurate release dates (online stores will now have to compensate)? This is why video game retailers in South Africa are going to crumble, not because of digital games – as the only factor – because of not getting the physical games on time which will result to us moving to full digital!

They should print the discs here in SA, did EA games not do that on some titles in the past? Same a huge amount on shipping and import duties…

    Buy it on Steam.

I would, but I have no where near enough cap.

  • This was a Europe-wide delay so you can’t really blame SKE. If the game does ship on 6 November, we even get it 2 days ahead of the new EU street date.

Ahh okay thanks for the clarification. Still bleak about them not commenting though, poor PR! Maybe they should hire Trevor Noah to be their visionary. Everyone is doing it 😛

Shoulder pat. The +/- 17 GB size is a bitch.
