EA has confirmed that a football World Cup game is in development and will release within the 2014 financial year.
The announcement came via EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson, who delivered some details on the games lineup for the upcoming fiscal year.
“In the last two weeks, you’ve also seen several announcements about our product slate for the remainder of this year and into FY ’15,” said Wilson. “We are refining our focus on our biggest brands and great new IP in development, including The Sims 4, EA Sports UFC, FIFA World Cup and Dragon Age: Inquisition.”
The FIFA series has traditionally seen a World Cup game released before a World Cup takes place.
