Rambo: The Video Game footage finally appears

One of the more questionable movie-game tie-ins announced in recent years is Rambo: The Video Game.

This thing has been kicking around since 2011. We finally saw a couple of screenshots in March 2013. And now, we have a short gameplay trailer which illustrates that the game will span the storylines of the first three Rambo movies.

I’m loathe to bash a game before it has launched, and we’ve only got a couple of minutes of footage to go on here, but I’m not hopeful.

Reef Entertainment is publishing and Polish developer Teyon is behind the code wheels. The game is said to focus on authentically recreating the vibe of the movies, taking audio and visual elements from the original source material.

The game is set to feature original movie voice-tracks from Sylvester Stallone himself, along with Richard Crenna, who played Col. Samuel Trautman in the films.

Rambo: The Video Game is scheduled for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in 2014.
