Dragon Age Inquisition – 30 minutes of leaked gameplay

12 November 2013

Dragon Age: Inquisition is an intriguing title on many levels as it gears up for a 2014 launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

For those craving an epic fantasy RPG on next-gen consoles, it fits the bill perfectly, although it will be going up against the likes of The Witcher 3.

For die-hard PC CRPG fans, and Dragon Age Origins fans in general, it will be BioWare’s chance to redeem themselves after the lacklustre showing made by Dragon Age 2.

Inquisition has DICE’s Frostbite 3 engine under the hood, promising destruction, explosions and terrain deformation.

The DigiExpo in Finland from 1 – 3 November recently played host to an Inquisition presentation, and now some recorded pre-alpha footage has made its way onto the Internet.

Having watched the footage, it’s clear that Inquisition is no longer an isometric affair, and while I do long for the good old days of Origins, I am left quite keen on trying out Inquisition.

The visuals are looking good, even at this pre-alpha stage of development. It remains to be seen if the game will be modifiable – we can dream…

At around the 18 minute mark, you will see the tactical view options in action, allowing player to pause the game and plan attacks.

For those who want to import their storylines from the first two Dragon Age games but have lost their save files, BioWare has developed Dragon Age Keep.

Keep will allow players to customise a Dragon Age historical world state drawn from Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II story decisions, and then import this into Dragon Age 3.

Players can sign up to the Dragon Age Keep beta on the official Dragon Age Keep site. The Dragon Age Keep is scheduled for public launch in 2014.

The graphics look stellar! As mentioned in the story though, it will have stiff competition in The Witcher 3!
