Best games of 2013: VGX award winners revealed

The 2013 Spike VGX awards, formerly VGA (Video Game Awards) wrapped up on 7 December, and the winners of the 11th annual event have been revealed.

The nominees were chosen and voted on by a panel of judges comprised of members from various media outlets: Entertainment Weekly, Game Informer, Joystiq, Kotaku, Polygon, IGN, GameTrailers, Gamespot, Wired.com, USA Today, and Associated Press.

The viewers also had their chance to vote, selecting Most Anticipated Game, character of the Year, and Best Mobile Game.

  • Best Voice Actor: Troy Baker (as Joel in The Last of Us)
  • Best Voice Actress: Ashley Johnson (as Ellie in The Last of Us)
  • Best Soundtrack: Grand Theft Auto 5
  • Best Song in a Game: “Will the Circle be Unbroken” performed by Courtnee Draper & Troy Baker (BioShock Infinite)
