Konami Digital Entertainment has dropped an update on their Dracula spectacular, the forthcoming Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, revealing that the legendary vampire will be throwing down against the ultimate badass himself, Satan.
Konami says the game will offer over 24 hours of gameplay through an open-world environment, and jiggles the series mechanics with a free-roaming camera.
The new game picks up where the original left off.
Awoken after centuries of slumber and yearning for release from his immortal bonds, Dracula finds himself stranded and powerless in contemporary times. Thus, the immortal vampire must rediscover his powers as he makes a pact with Death to defeat Satan. Only then will he gain eternal rest.
New game assets show off the skills and powers available to the player, and show off the modern day city and expansive gothic castle where Dracula must reclaim his lost powers of transformation and collate the weaponry needed to dispatch Satan’s hordes.
Key adversaries are also shown off, as well as the visible degradation of Dracula when he first arrives in present day, and the gradual resurrection as his powers grow.
Finally, we get a look at the supporting characters, such as the Acolyte and the Dragon metamorphosis that is essential to defeating Satan, Lord of chaos.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is pegged for release on 28 February 2014 on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.
