Having struggled since 2008, the BioShock movie was finally canned in March 2013.

Now the concept artwork from the film has emerged, showing the undersea city of Rapture in many angles and details not seen in the game.

The art was created by Jim Martin and you can view the full gallery of his BioShock work over on his portfolio.

Jim Martin has previously worked on a number of fantastical films such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Chronicles of Riddick, The Matrix sequels, and Star Trek: Deep Space 9.

The BioShock movie had much potential, with a US$200 million production deal at Universal and Gore Verbinski on board to direct.

Eventually the studio got cold feet and slashed the budget, causing Verbinski to back out, and series creator Ken Levine to finally pull the plug.
