Do Gaming League DGL

Telkom Do Gaming League (DGL) has announced the latest numbers for its 2014 summer leg, showing that Dota 2 is growing ever more popular in South Africa.

So far, 234 teams have registered to compete in the 2014 Dota 2 DGL. This is up from 151 teams in the previous season.

While I’m struggling to dig up numbers on professional Dota 2 leagues around the world, I think it’s safe to say that DGL must be among the largest out there.

In comparison, League of Legends is immensely popular around the globe (as is Dota 2) and there are 100 LoL teams entered to compete in DGL 2014.

Registrations have been extended for the 2014 DGL, closing on 26 January with the summer leg kicking off on 3 February.
