New Guacamelee! for PlayStation, Xbox, and Wii U

6 March 2014

DrinkBox Studios announced on 6 March that they will be bringing Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and the Wii U in the second half of 2014.

The game – which is among the first indie titles scheduled to launch via Microsoft’s ID@Xbox on Xbox One – features new content, such as:

  • An expanded story, including DLC content from the original.
  • New game areas, with boat riding and lava dodging on the menu.
  • A new three-headed skeleton boss character that lives in a volcano.
  • New abilities, such as the INTENSO combat mode, chicken bombs, and dimension swopping.
  • More enemies that want to “choke slam luchadores to sleep”
  • Dual currency system that supports permanent item unlocks

“It’s always been our plan to bring Guacamelee! to additional platforms in order to share the game’s unique world with as many gamers as possible. However, we wanted to go one step further and provide fans with new content and features,” said Ryan MacLean, co-founder of DrinkBox Studios.

“We feel that Super Turbo Championship Edition will provide armchair luchadores with the richest Guac experience ever.”
