SA indie dev talks humble beginnings to R1 million success

STASIS

Co-owner of the 3D architectural design agency Burn, and head honcho of Indie-adventure STASIS, speaks about what it takes to make a success of yourself during an interview with Finweek.

“Find something that you do very well, do it very well, and charge money for it… and don’t avoid the tax man,” was Bischof’s advice to prospective entrepreneurs.

In February we wrote about how Bischof raised over a million rand through Kickstarter for STASIS, and in the interview he talks about the draining but euphoric experience it was.

STASIS is a 2D isometric, point-and-click adventure game for PC Windows, set in the distant future on a desolate spacecraft. Protagonist John Maracheck must solve puzzles to save his family, while uncovering horrific experimentation, illicit research, and an ever deepening mystery.

Watch the video below to hear Bischof talk about starting his company in a kitchen, making his first million, and the Kickstarter campaign.
