Atari have promised a “completely different” RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 experience for PC gamers compared to the recently launched mobile version.
RCT fans were not too pleased with their initial taste of RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile after it was revealed the game would cater for micro-transactions to speed things up for impatient players with real world cash to spare.
“We can’t share that much, but [PC] will definitely be a completely different game,” said senior director of marketing at Atari, Anthony Chien. “There’s a lot of die-hard RC fans that want a PC experience, they want all different sorts of things.”
While differences between the mobile and PC versions – such as whether it adopts the same structure and use of in-game currency – have yet to be confirmed, the PC version will be an “online multiplayer experience” that won’t run through Facebook.
RCT 4 for PC is expected to be released before the end of 2014.
