South African studio Tasty Poison Games have turned to Kickstarter to help fund their latest project: Tom Sparks and the Quakes of Ruin.
The developers are looking to raise $50,000 (around R520,000) by the 2 May 2014 cut off date, and at the time of publication had 68 backers pledging just under $1,300 (around R13,500).
Tom Sparks and the Quakes of Ruin is described as a 3D diesel-punk adventure “full of crazy weapons, exciting combat, and exploration of mysterious underground worlds”, and an alpha demo is available via the Kickstarter page.
“Without giving too much away, let us just say that Tom Sparks is a simple and honest engineer who is unwittingly thrust into a wild adventure when a series of unusual earthquakes threaten his subterranean home of Under Passage. There are strange happenings deep beneath the planet’s crust and Tom must journey through mysterious and fantastical worlds in order solve the mystery of the Quakes of Ruin,” say the developers.
The game is also on SteamGreenLight, looking to garner positive votes from gamers.
