GTA 5 news 1

Grand Theft Auto 5 was named Best Game at the European Game Awards, which took place in Germany on 9 April 2014.

Rockstar also picked up the awards for Best Sound and Best Action Game. The awards do not come as a surprise, considering GTA 5 was the best selling game of 2013 and received high praise from critics.

Ubisoft was named Best Publisher, while Best Studio was awarded to German free-to-play developer Goodgame Studios – which also picked up awards for mobile game Empire: Four Kingdoms and the browser-based Goodgame Empire.

The EGA’s winners are chosen by the public, who voted online in 15 categories, and is the largest independent audience award in Europe.
