The web was all a-buzz, a-twitter, and a-blogspamming rumours of an MMO being developed, probably with the name Kingdoms.
This was due to a discovery of two Crytek employees’ LinkedIn profiles that stated they were working on an MMO and reports of Crytek acquiring a bunch of URLs containing the word “kingdoms.”
In a live-action trailer at E3, Crytek revealed Codename:Kingdoms.
According to GameSpot Codename:Kingdoms might be the all-new IP Crytek’s Ukraine studio in Kiev was working on, but speculation of its MMO status was dispelled at Microsoft’s E3 news conference yesterday.
Reminiscent of films such as Gladiator and 300, Microsoft has stated that Kingdoms will be available exclusively for the Xbox 360. This would suggest that the chance of it being an MMO is slim to none.
