Mortal Kombat 10 announced, trailer revealed

2 June 2014

Developer NetherRealm Studio and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive has announced that Mortal Kombat X (or Mortal Kombat 10 to us non-Roman plebs) is currently in development for launch in 2015.

Not much is known other than that, such as launch platforms, but it will more than likely be seeing a next-gen console release. According to the video blurb:

“Fueled by next-gen technology, Mortal Kombat X combines unparalleled, cinematic presentation with dynamic gameplay to create an unprecedented Kombat experience.”

Thanks to an erroneous Amazon UK posting, rumour has it that the game will go for a 5-hit-combo on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
