Assassin’s Creed is one of Ubisoft’s most successful franchises and it’s one of the yearly outings I always look forward to.
Following the epic pirate adventure that was Assassin’s Creed 4, Unity needs to deliver something special – and it might just have what it takes.
Ubisoft has provided trailers setting the stage with a cinematic intro, unveiling the new protagonist, then showing off the single-player campaign, and in a first for the series, four player co-op.
Assassin’s Creed Unity takes you back to Paris during the French Revolution – when the streets ran red with blood, heads were mounted on sticks as a form of protest, and the grounds were set for the modern era.
Step into the robes of Arno Dorian, a young man who witnessed a horrible tragedy and turned to the Brotherhood to help him combat the corruption running rampant in France.
Following the almost whimsical pirate adventure of Black Flag, Unity’s storyline and setting seems satisfyingly grim. Check the trailer below to see what I mean.

Assassin’s Creed Unity will launch globally on 28 October 2014 Xbox One, PS4, and PC, making it the first next-gen-only outing for the franchise.
