GTA 5 PC costs the same as PS4, Xbox One version

We know that GTA 5 is coming to PC, and that Steam’s Summer Sale is coming soon – how can we top those stories? By combining them, of course.

Steam has listed GTA 5 on its store, with a release date of Fall 2014 (which equates to September in SA).

Steam had this to say about GTA 5: “Grand Theft Auto V for PC will take full advantage of the power of PC to deliver across-the-board enhancements including increased resolution and graphical detail, denser traffic, greater draw distances, upgraded AI, new wildlife, and advanced weather and damage effects for the ultimate open world experience.”

No price was listed on the site at the time of publication.

American retailers Amazon, GameStop, and Best Buy, have listed the PC version of the game at $59.99 (±R640) – the same price as the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game.

Two of the sites claim the game will be released on 31 December 2014, but this is likely to change. It’s not uncommon for PC games to cost the same as their console counterparts in the States – take a look at Far Cry 4 – but this might translate to more expensive prices locally.

Will the PC version cost the same as the next-gen console version when it arrives in SA? We will have to wait and see.
