Rock Simulator lets you play… as a rock

We’ve seen Goat Simulator, Bear Simulator, and Drowning Simulator – what animal/item/act simulator could follow that?

Developer Strange Panther Games thinks it has the answer – Rock Simulator.

The game is, as the title suggest, about a rock. Rock Simulator is described on Steam as a game which allows player to “watch beautiful rocks in any location in the world. From grass plains to salt flats, there are dozens of hand designed beautiful environments”.

“I saw that other simulation games, such as Goat Simulator, can be successful, so I thought that if a goat can be a good game, than a rock can be too!” Strange Panther developer, Ryan, told Polygon.

“I didn’t expect anything near the reaction it’s getting. It originally started as a joke, and now that we’ve seen the reaction, it’s a completely real game.”

Rock Simulator is currently on Steam Greenlight, and is receiving a largely positive response from the community. In fact, 85% of the votes are in favour of the game.

The game is due to launch for PC for free. A release date is yet to be decided.
