Dead Island publisher Deep Silver still wants its zombie-killing game to thrill audiences as a movie.
According to reports, Deep Silver has partnered with Occupant Entertainment to finance and produce a movie based on the game. Expect a tropical paradise with children’s arms being eaten, and large explosions in slow-motion.
“The Dead Island universe offers a rich and unique setting that can expand beyond the pure gaming experience,” Deep Silver owner Koch Media CEO Dr. Klemens Kundratitz said.
“We are very much looking forward to seeing Dead Island open up to new audiences and showing off the fun everybody at Deep Silver has with this brand.”
This is not the first time Deep Silver has flirted with the idea of turning their hit game into a film – the company made a similar deal with Lionsgate in 2011. That project, as you may have guessed, fell through
If they turned the E3 2014 trailer for the Dead Island 2 – posted below – into a 90-minute zombie killer with dark humour, I would watch it.
