The game that started the mainstream zombie craze and gave us nightmares when we still had a “bed time” is coming back in remastered glory for the PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
Capcom says the game is set for a digital-only launch in early 2015, and will be based on the 2002 GameCube “REmake”.
The new version is set to include 1080p visuals (720p for the last-gen consoles) and 5.1 surround sound report. There’s no official international pricing yet, but the game will sell for around R413 in Japan.
Besides the high resolution, gamers will also be able choose between 4:3 ratio or 16:9 widescreen, along with their control styles. There’s also a scrolling camera, which allows for dynamic angles as opposed to the the original game’s static camera.
Resident Evil was first released for the original PlayStation in 1996.
