Missed some of the big announcements at the Gamescom 2014 Microsoft conference?
Well if you, like us, are unable to be there in the flesh, here are some of the highlights and big announcements.
Rise of the Tomb Raider exclusive to Xbox One
Yuuuup. The highly anticipated sequel to 2013’s Tomb Raider reboot is coming to the Xbone exclusively in 2015.
And sad news PlayStation fans, this isn’t a timed exclusive, it’s a genuine, like the days of old, nya-nya-nya-we-have-an-awesome-game-and-you-don’t exclusive exclusive.
At least Sony still has Uncharted 4.
Obviously it wouldn’t be Microsoft without a Halo nod, so there was some news that Halo: Guardians (Halo 5) would be getting a beta, with access given to folks who acquire the Halo Master Chief Collection.
MS also revealed a nifty 24/7 Xbox Channel dedicated to Halo. It’s not just 24 hours of Master Chief’s shiny helmet, either – it’s all about live streaming matches, news, and other Halo-universe stuff.
Indies! Indies! Indies!
Marco isn’t keen on them, but Microsoft doesn’t care.
Goat Simulator, Space Engineers, and Smite are going to be making their way onto Xbox One via the [email protected] initiative.
There’s also Threes! to look forward to, and strategy game, Plague Inc Evolved.
MS is taking indies to heart, and that’s awesome news.
Games! Games! Games!
Gamescom is about games. It’s right there in the name – and Microsoft did not disappoint.
Assassin’s Creed Unity, Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, and more – here are some of the highlights.
Ori and the Blind Forest
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
