Harmonix and MTV Games has announced that Rock Band 3 will be released on October 26.
The developer has added a keyboard to the mix, as well as a new hybrid stringed guitar that will work as a normal guitar outside the game. Apparently players will be able to play along, and actually learn how to play the guitar in Rockband 3. The game will even teach wannabe guitarists scales and chords.
Excluding the instruments, Rockband 3 is priced the same as a regular console game in the US ($59). A new 102-button “pro controller” will reportedly retail for around $150, and the keyboard for $80. There is also talk of a MIDI Pro-Adapter that will allow real keyboards to be plugged into the game. There has been no mention of a price for the stringed guitar.
