Just pirate the game, no need to pay us

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number has been refused classification in Australia, in effect resulting in the game being banned from the land down under.

But that has not put a dampener on developer Dennaton Games’s spirits, with the company telling Australian gamers they can just pirate the title.

“If it ends up being not released in Australia, just pirate it after release,” designer Jonatan Söderström wrote in an email to a fan. “No need to send us any money, just enjoy the game!”

Publisher Devolver Digital has elected not to censor the game or challenge the Australian Classification Board’s decision, so it looks like circumventing traditional sales channels may have to take place.

For you South African gamers, I recommended spending some of your hard-earned money on this title. I thoroughly enjoyed Hotline Miami on PC, and will definitely be getting the sequel when it arrives on Steam.
