BioWare announces Mass Effect 2 Lair of the Shadowbroker DLC

Don’t put the Normandy crew into hypersleep just yet, Commander Shepard – BioWare’s logged a new assignment for you guys. This just in from mission control:

Q. Is this gonna be a standup fight, sir, or another bughunt?

A. All we know is that there’s still no contact with the colony, and that a xenomorph may be involved.

Q. Excuse me sir, a-a what?

A. A xenomorph.

Q. It’s a bughunt.

Actually, that last bit wasn’t really a proper question, and it’s not a bughunt. More’s the pity. Dear BioWare, please can we have a bughunt?

In the meantime, though, we’re getting something called “Lair of the Shadowbroker”. I suppose it’s possible the shadowbroker is really some sort of bug, of course. I mean, only bugs live in lairs, right?

Anyway. Any potential bughunts notwithstanding, BioWare promises that the DLC is an “excellent adventure through Illium and the shadowbroker’s secret lair”, and adds the shadowbroker intel centre, new research options, and five Achievements to the game. Intriguingly, there’s also the possibility for Mass Effect 1 players to “to continue a relationship with Liara”. Omg, Jack’s going to be totally pissed. INTERSTELLAR CATFIGHT!

The DLC drops 7 September for PC and Xbox 360, and is priced at 800 BioWare / Microsoft Points.
