EA has released a brand new trailer for its upcoming military themed shooter; Medal of Honor. The video shows off 3 minutes of extremely impressive airborne action, with the player controlling some sort of attack helicopter.
The footage has been extracted from the single player campaign, and displays some epic explosions, destructible environments, and generally awesome visuals.
Medal of Honor will supposedly re-enact Operation Anaconda which took place in 2001 in the war in Afghanistan. The single player campaign will run on a heavily modified version of the Unreal Engine, while the multiplayer component will use DICE’s Frostbite engine.
The game recently caused controversy when it was announced that players will be able to play as the Taliban, causing British Defense Secretary Dr Liam Fox to call for the game to be banned. Canadian Defense Minister Peter Mackay had similar aversions to the game. Regardless, the game is on track for its October release.
Several United States Military members were hired as consultants, to supposedly ensure that the game provides a fair degree of realism.
Medal of Honor is due out on PS3, PC and Xbox 360 on 15 October, 2010. The multiplayer component will feature localised dedicated servers for PC.
