It’s finally happening; there will be no more delays. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has gone gold and is ready for its May 19th release. This is following an announcement made by CD Projekt RED, saying:
We worked so damn hard over the past three years to bring you this game,” said CD Projekt Red boss Adam Badowski. “From the corrupt nobles in Novigrad to ancient monsters lurking in deep forests, to the bustling cities, colorful ports and breathtaking vistas; all the people, all the places — we literally spent tens of thousands of hours to turn all that into an adventure that will kick your ass and make you want to come for more. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has gone gold and will soon be yours.”
Along with going gold, the download sizes for the varying versions of The Witcher 3 have been revealed.
Xbox One – Size 25.15GB/ Installed – 30.4GB
N4G user BecauseImBatman reports that the installation is actually 30.4GB after the game has been downloaded. The smaller size of the Xbox One version, when compared to the PS4 and PC versions of the game, is likely down to the slightly lower resolution.
PS4 – Size 35GB
Just for reference sake, this is the North American store size; the EU store still reads 50GB, which is probably just a placeholder waiting to be updated. Expect it to be the same size as the NA version, unless it includes additional languages of course.
PC – Size 35GB
The Steam version of the game has been reported to be 35GB. This is the same size as the PS4 version which is no surprise as the game runs at 1080p on both PC and PS4. That said, you can crank The Witcher 3 all the way up to 4K on PC, and then some, which should look beautiful.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt sees Geralt of Rivia embark on a new personal adventure while trying to keep the “Wild Hunt” at bay. The game is set for release on PS4, Xbox One and PC on May 19th, 2015. Are you ready?
